Dr. Varsha Kiron is a highly accomplished Interventional Cardiologist and the Director of Cardiology at AIG Hospitals, Banjara Hills. Trained at the prestigious CMC, Vellore, he brings deep expertise in managing complex cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, coronary artery disease, valvular and congenital heart diseases, cardiomyopathies, and thromboembolic disorders. He is widely respected for his skillful and timely management of cardiac emergencies, particularly life-saving interventions in acute myocardial infarction.
Dr. Kiron has been instrumental in developing structured, team-based approaches to complex cardiovascular care. He previously led the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT), a first-of-its-kind initiative in India that introduced an organised, multidisciplinary protocol for managing pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis, significantly improving outcomes in these high-risk conditions.
An expert in advanced cardiac diagnostics and interventions, Dr. Kiron performs procedures such as transesophageal echocardiography, coronary and peripheral angiography, and complex coronary and peripheral angioplasties. His interventional expertise includes CHIP angioplasty, intravascular imaging–guided interventions (IVUS, OCT), and structural heart procedures such as device closures, TAVR, and MitraClip. He was part of the team that performed the first robotic angioplasty in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and he holds the first and only Indian publication on intravascular lithotripsy–guided carotid stenting.
Actively engaged in innovation, Dr. Kiron is deeply interested in integrating technology into cardiovascular care. He collaborates with health-tech startups and academic institutions on digital solutions for hypertension management, remote congestion monitoring in heart failure, and digitally enabled cardiac rehabilitation, reflecting his commitment to future-ready, patient-centric cardiology.
